Responding faster to incidents with AI.

From constant pressure to overview and control
A government organisation with multiple locations wanted to improve security without deploying extra people. Security staff monitored dozens of cameras day and night, but it was impossible to follow everything at once. Incidents were sometimes noticed too late, causing tension among employees and visitors. The organisation wanted to know whether artificial intelligence could help intervene earlier, without compromising on privacy or reliability. Facilitech was asked to investigate this together with Oddity.ai in a realistic setting where surveillance and security come together.
AI that watches along and alerts immediately
Together with Oddity.ai, Facilitech ran a pilot in which AI automatically detected aggression and violence in existing camera footage. The technology analysed anonymised video and alerted security within seconds as soon as abnormal behaviour was detected. The solution ran completely separately from the internal network, so privacy and data security remained guaranteed. Facilitech supervised the integration with the camera system, the testing and the collaboration with the security teams. This allowed employees to experience how AI supports them in practice, not as a replacement but as an extra pair of digital eyes that increases overview and alertness.
Responding faster and managing situations better
During the pilot, incidents were registered up to four times more often than with manual observation. Security could therefore respond faster and manage situations better. The algorithms also work in low light or at long distances and continuously improve themselves through deep learning. In practice, the AI detects incidents in less than half a second, even with large numbers of video streams at once. The government organisation therefore concluded that AI in camera surveillance is not a thing of the future, but is already helping to make surveillance more consistent and effective. Thanks to the collaboration with Facilitech and Oddity.ai, a practical step has been taken towards faster and more careful action in response to incidents.
